The film “We Are Our Mountains” has found a new home in the German language. Brusov State University has once again shown that a promise here becomes an achievement.
Zoya Martirosyan, Ruzanna Kosoyan and Tsoghik Voskanyan, together with their supervisor, Associate Professor Liana Safaryan, embarked on a great journey with Matevossian’s words. They opened dictionaries and turned to Shakespeare, for Matevossian’s shepherd delivers his “Aleppo, Aleppo…” with the breath of Othello. Native-speaking editor Stefanie Steiner joined the work to preserve the living quality of the language.
On 5 December, Brusov State University held a celebration for everyone who believes that great art lives beyond borders—for its faithful audience yesterday, today and tomorrow.
