Back in the happy decades of Brezhnev, the Moscow citizens, ignorant and unaware of our historical fate, saw our nationalism in our homogeneity, and the Moscow bureaucrat made an unsuccessful attempt at politics to destroy this homogeneity. During the events of 1988, we were also threatened here: do not boast of your homogeneity. we can and will create other nations from your own flesh and blood. The rulers know very well how one-sided armies disintegrate under the pressure of difficulties, that the corrosive moth is present in all and every army. We must now overcome our party, personal and class egoism, be able to rise above ourselves, otherwise we will throw away the very present of our people, which is called Armenian statehood.
Both himself, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, and the most orthodox ANM members, Dashnaktsutyun, and other opposition forces, and among them, especially those who have turned the opposition into a business for themselves, for the sake of the opposition, I see in all of us the ability to tolerate each other, to save the cry oppressing our breasts today with superhuman effort for tomorrow, to understand that in many, many cases, we fill the medium not with our words. we do not occupy the square with our games, because we are a toy in the hands of other, unfriendly forces. Every hero of the parliamentary stage and the rally square must understand that once he becomes a hero, he is a sick person, that he has drunk the salt water of fame, that he must be silent for months, clean himself, shake the noise of fame from his ears, wipe the admiration of the crowds from his eyes and return to his sober state, to rediscover the extent of his true abilities, otherwise his destruction is the destruction of the entire multitudes as well.
In front of the image of a destroyed country, a great national disaster, a displaced people, a refugee people, we are obliged to shout the same cry, come with one face, one word. We are obliged to be blind and deaf to each other's faults and shortcomings for at least a few months...
Catholic and Enlightenment, Dhaniyak and Ramkawar, Armenian-speaking and Turkish-speaking, bourgeois and poor, in great horror, we were together on the roads of the great migration, we licked each other's wounds. What is it, did we heal, invigorate, so that we can bite each other's throats again, take away a share of glory and bread from each other, rob ourselves of our wholeness and thus the power of the motherland, will history not call us fools?
Anyway, we will get out of this trouble. Only nationally.
Fortune has thrown us a gauntlet, and instead of raising the gauntlet like men, we have turned our backs and are busy with completely different things. May our behavior today be such that tomorrow the air will be clear and our Armenian sky will be open, we will be able to look each other straight in the eye.
Let's not divide the indivisible. both today and tomorrow we belong to each other.
