Our society is a cannibalistic society, we are a people born from that society and we are making a breakthrough towards humanity, we often see that our claws are cannibalistic claws, we are not endowed with humanity, and if we can relate to this great and bright world through self-feeding, it will truly be a victory for life and for us.
Hrant Matevosyan
- With all your literature, you restore our cut-destroyed-eroded forest with its animals-people, replant and caress the trees one by one. Today, of course, those trees, bushes, animals, owners are not in their places, they took Rostom's rifle and went to protect the holy land of Armenians. So, the more characters you created, the more Armenians you made and strengthened us. We know that these accumulated black clouds will open the windows of their sun house, and those who have left will return to their service, to their new routine. It's just that children will be orphaned again, women will become widows, people will appear on the street dragging their only leg, many of them we will never see again. Is it our little bill before the big bill?
- No. No child should be orphaned.
Instead of one unspoken word of justice, look at what chaos is being created, how people are being disfigured. The small margin from which the light of justice was supposed to shine, what ravens flew out of that hole, when it could have been absolutely bloodless, and the peoples could have peacefully coexisted.
When the Turks had torn the front, and alarm fell on Tiflis, because the doors of the Caucasian capital were no longer open, the Armenians formed a delegation to the viceroyalty, to see what the ruler of the Caucasus had to say. The ruler of the Caucasus had already packed his luggage, the countess, Vorontsova-Dashkova, was beating her knees: "Wow, what's going to happen, I have grown-up girls, the Turks of Borchalvi are coming." Let's hope that the Turks of Borchalvi are still knocking on the doors of the capital of the Union, and the ladies there also have adult and teenage daughters. Our pain may reach them that way. All this is the fault of the Center and Gorbachev, and it is a serious fault. They betrayed their essence with their language sooner than we would understand - provocative. They defiantly did not understand the simple problem, distorted it, defiled it, contaminated it, called on the authorities to solve the problem, and then referred to their own birth, the Azerbaijani factor. Artsakh belongs to the people of Artsakh, but the rulers spoke of that country and its inhabitants as a herd without an owner or a garden. Understanding the rulers is difficult, fighting them is even more difficult. Now the presence of the "bodyguard" is mandatory here, otherwise "we drink each other's blood". "Artsakh" "over there in the Transcaucasia" will always smoke, and the firefighters of the Center will always extinguish and ignite, ignite and extinguish, to ensure their stable presence of the prosecutor.
- You said that the Center and Gorbachev are to blame for our situation. Gorbachev, his predecessors too, are very small compared to what they have done, they have living pedestals under their "boots", why are we constantly looking for leaders of sin, why don't we first of all talk about the forces that set the marionettes in motion?
- Those forces that set the marionette in motion are Russian chauvinism and internal Turkish chauvinism, which, at least from our point of view, are in a deep agreement, we can say, an alliance - are you satisfied? Gorbachev, no matter how deep a democrat he is, will not stand by us against any of them.
Our hope is a clear proof of the social evil brought by totalitarianism. it is so real, hard and exact, it destroys life itself in such a way that the most sworn patriots of their homelands, Turkish-speaking and Russian, will reject even the military barracks benefits of totalitarianism and are already rejecting them. Azerbaijani nationalists understand this very well. tomorrow, when totalitarianism will be destroyed and ownership will be re-established, they will not be able to displace any Armenians from their places, this is where their fever of de-Armenianism begins.
- The harmony of the marionette movement was not disturbed at all when one of the moving forces, variously called the National Front, touched the crystal glass of the Center with the tips of its crowded fingers. a ringing volley just flew out of that cup.
- Under slightly different conditions, the uprising of those popular masses would have been welcome, supposedly for the sake of a new life, and the Center should have been the reaction, but like in all multi-ethnic countries, the movement slipped and fell into the abyss of inter-ethnic relations, anti-Armenianism became their goal today, the path of weak resistance attracted them, with the animal instinct of their mind, they did not dare to point the arrow against other elements. This is how the Baku-Sumgait massacres occurred. In turn, it seemed to the Center that with the "small" sacrifice of the Armenians, it would stop the flood of Turkish nationalism for the time being, but also enter the course of alliance with it. How prospective that compromise is, they know, for now it is clearly visible to us that their socio-political movement is an ugliness. Against this background, what should have been reactionary - yesterday's order, bureaucrats, Stalinists - are more positive existences than today's disfigured-distorted reconstructionists. The seizure of the center should be the problem of the day and by solving the problems of the places in the places, it would put the country on the path of peaceful reconstruction, hand over the different homelands to their peoples and pamper the confederation of nations.
- That road is behind seven mountains. And another way through a coup?
- I am afraid of a coup. For me, even if something happens to Raisa Maksimovna, I will be terrified of that blood.
- We, with our Christian fear, and the case will not go ahead, the state of the country will not improve and it is possible that these elements of ours who have come to political consciousness will use their moment of self-awareness.
- I am not omniscient, but as long as they can keep the country away from revolutions and coups, kudos to them, the better for life and humanity.
- Is that your view of a writer, a philanthropist?
- No, it's not my view of the writer, it's reality. Many, many countries outside have been in peaceful progress for decades and even centuries due to the fact that they are in the midst of daily revolutions, daily renovations, reconstructions, explosive situations and explosions are always excluded in those countries.
I must admit that fifteen years ago, I was not left in such an enviable state by an American acquaintance of mine, an almost Armenian girl. He was here to write his college graduation paper, I wanted to stand out with my knowledge of his country, but all my novelty was already too old for him. "Folkner. He's dead! Dead! Updike is 45 years old now, I think he's 45 years old, and he's dead too."
So long live the bud, long live the vibration that is born and struck every day. Birth should always be present both in art and in life. We must constantly shake off the rust that hardens our thoughts and feelings. And in many ways outsiders should be our teachers.
- You seem to be capturing the imagination of those leaving here.
- I cannot curse those who leave, they are in charge of their own lives, but also, I consider every departure from this besieged citadel as treason. But it should be seen that this revolution of thoughts in us was done by Faulkner, Saroyan, Dali, the dictator's pedestal was demolished by Marquez. Outside had a great service for us, revolutionary significance. a random expression, a gesture, a grimace exposed all our ideological falsehood.
- In the language of our reality today, you raise your fist in solidarity with spiritual revolutions and reject all political revolutions with the same fist.
- Perhaps.
- Tumanyan passes gently caressing the "mountains" and "trees" of your work "Insignificant, as a tender wing of darkness". While reading you, we constantly see Tumanyan looking at the Armenian "deja vu" world. You don't run away from that look, you make it black.
- At the tenderest age, I thought that I would write "Ani", then it fell aside. I came, I decided to write "Pokr Mher". at that age you don't look to tomorrow. you think about the rainbow-colored distant, nostalgic calls of the past, the beauty of the chronicles is enchanting. in a word, you go for the one that is easy to overcome, I thought of "Little Mher" among those calls, I thought at the same time: I will write "Tumanyan", I made small schemes, let me see once more that Tumanyan and Mher are absolutely the same. both defeat, and the cave, and death; and I saw that I will not write "Tumanyan". In general, I am against writing things about already established personalities, because of the efforts of God, the people, or the author, that person was established, it has already been established. let's say Andrey Bolkonsky and let's say Hovhannes Tumanyan. Raffi, Abovyan, Tiflis, Mariam Tumanyan, Dsegh, "Gikor" worked on Tumanyan, in short, they made it. Andrei Bolkonsky was created by the efforts of Tolstoy, in reality there are both, so there is no need for me to repeat. And I think that all undertakings about established personalities are doomed to failure from the beginning. They are a repetition. After giving up, I saw that I will never create a Tuman like this, but every time I will throw a mark from them into my essay, with the united effort of the reader, enticing the reader's imagination to reveal his bright image.
- As a reader, I must say that you succeed, you really give your share of Tumanyan to the people. Foreignness attracted our generation, we almost forgot about Gikor (he was not born of our society, they were born by the capitalist society), but today many people like me go to Tumanyan with you. Gratitude. This is like this. now don't you feel that you are contradicting yourself? my sense of the beautiful had a bright smile at the moment of your speech when you compared Tumanyan and Bolkonsky as accomplished greats. using your own comparison, I want to remember Alkho. Alkho also took place, Aghun appeared next to him, then the Lord came heavy and big, they were all "carriage horses", but if one took place, why did the other one come?
- So, in 1962, I wrote a work, typed a hundred pages, there were good things, but it was not completed as a whole, and I saw that I would have to approach the same goal from different places, with combinations, in one place it will be a horse, in another place it will be Agh...
- Doesn't it turn out that you are building a "house" like a "true artist" with Bit?
- I like the image of the forest more.
- Let's go back to Mets Loretsin again. what was he going to do today?
- He was going to do what he did in his situation: he put his son on the front line and died, he put his brother on the front line and he died, the illness that dragged on for years turned into inconsolable grief and drowned him. He was going to do what each of us would do today, with his people. Today, when our people are left alone in the black darkness, it also brings its good sides: spiritual autonomy, spiritual independence, world knowledge, self-knowledge, and it is possible that in today's generation there will be those guys who, over the 70-year unemployment years, will enter into a proxy with their ancestor, who, sometimes with 50, sometimes 500 horsemen behind him, imposed his white flag, peace, on the enemy. and it was not petitioner's emissary to the feet of the enemy, he was really imposing his peace.
- When we read your interviews given to foreign magazines or, say, to "Literaturnaya Gazeta" of the last period, we see that there are no such interviews in Armenian reality, you have not given us your interview yet. Why?
- The remark that I made to the head of the Armenian department of the "Voice of America" radio station, I will make to you now. you did not request such an interview, and in requesting it, you failed to extract the best of my abilities. Are you different when you approach any figure of a foreign nation, and are you different when you approach Armenian intellectuals? I would like your responsibility to yourself to be greater when talking to us, because it is the responsibility of the few to the Armenian language, Armenian culture, and Armenian political thought. That "Litgazeta" employee of yours spent about half a year on each of his interviews with me, another one came from Moscow to Yerevan two or three times to coordinate the proofreading of the finished material with me. Just imagine the unpleasantness of the road, of the foreignness. Before you came, I was browsing the exclusive "Azdak" magazine. Look at the journalistic culture of those boys, what a magnificent generation it is, it's just a real national pride. does not curse, does not pollute himself. it is a wonderful human trait, looking at the world like a father, which finds its manifestation also and first of all in the Armenian writer and journalist. Now can I contradict myself on a fresh example? Vahabzade cursed my Armenian tribe with "Svoboda", my wives, my elder and younger, my daughters, let me curse him too. I will not curse, his people are much more my people than his.
- You see, we don't curse. to sit on the high seat of humanity, we are constantly being destroyed. In the face of our humanity, Armenia has become a line on the map with its back broken. You and I were not believers, but we are Christians by birth, with our genes, we have already established ourselves, but our lands are gone!
- Hatred, cruelty will not win. When? There should be no doubt: we are moving forward, and civilization is coming to meet us. today's gloomy, heavy, cloudy weather, those irritating news outside should not distract us from our course, we have come from civilization and we are going to civilization.
- But aren't we going with huge losses, how little we have left? won't the moment come when a few people will walk the road of civilization?
- We have suffered huge losses in the cases when we did not speak with our voice, did not do our job, when we danced to someone else's duduk. On the moral front, today we suffer huge losses, like all the Soviet nations, but I must say again: it should not pollute us, because the unpolluted belong not to heaven, but to heaven on earth. In all cases, my fallen, my general, my puzzler (Andranik cut off a head anyway), my profane and pure are higher people than other similar people, in their fall they always keep an edge of relation to our morality.
You surely remember "Dante's myth". there is our generation of Armenians, but there is no mention of Turks and Kurds. That's who we are: my poet, my general, my private, my patriot... everyone. It seems that our enemy is not the figures of such and such nationality, but some extra-social and extra-human evil that we want to judge and remove.
A soldier is one who is worshiped not only in your army but also in the enemy's army. It may happen, let's say, a toy of history: your commander becomes his commander. the commander will be sung in the enemy's army as well. and if he became the god of your army and the executioner of the other army, then man and humanity have already disappeared. My Andranik was the commander of those high virtues, my Chaush was sung both by the Kurds and by themselves, the Turks. They may glorify Enver in their secret cellars, but that woman is the executioner of my people. And if you have such a tyrant, by giving him a role in your story, you don't bring him to the synagogue, you don't take him to Europe or Armenia as a model of humanity.
- You are ashamed in front of America, it didn't happen, believe it, it didn't happen, say it didn't happen, even when you are begging, your bloody knife pulls its head out of your pocket.
- Yes, a person can simply fall to the bottom of inhumanity, but when the time of realization and evaluation comes, when he rises from the moment of an animal to the moment of an animal, he does not want to see the person being raped and slaughtered, which he himself did, in the moment of sobriety, he does not want to see himself as an animal, no, he never was.
- They are unable to become civilized in centuries, as if they are born, should I say Jews, devil-people? shall there be one whom they eat? Are we surrendering our body of Christ to them to save the civilization of the world as if we are going to the idea that dying is better than killing?
- Let's not cherish that thought. never have we been so unarmed, nor so cruel to ourselves.
- But when the moment comes, which do you choose, the creed of the dying or the creed of the killer?
- Living! Only the living. My grandson will have a grandfather, his grandfather will bring him an emerald ring from the Istanbul bazaar, there will be a dance at his wedding.
On the other hand, what is Nietzsche's thought? You need to destroy the beggar, because if you threw your pen, you certainly ruined him, but first of all, you ruined yourself because you raised a prince in you, sir. Why, who was I to condemn myself to a coward and appoint him as the director of people's destinies by inculcating in me the thought of dying and being killed?
To live, only to live, equally, with respect. Is he there, let him be for himself, but he should not trample my border, let him be strong, but never at my expense, let his sword sharpen on his bone and not mine.
In this regard, perhaps, Nishanov and Ligachev should wish that their mother, wife, and sister would be in the state of our beaten and neglected ones, in that case the pain would be felt, even though they are so dead that their sister's pain will not reach them.
- God does not make those who do not understand pain, those who do not share the pain of others, worthy of pain. in all cases we are Christians, and there is no curse in our Christianity, and poverty brings a curse, let us not be poor!
- Yes, let's not be poor. we have two big boys, two tall people: Tumanyan and Charents (let's forget Saryan, Saroyan, Khachatryan... the other very unforgettable ones for a moment). such geniuses, in whose work the mere cursing matter does not curse, but spreads proud sorrow, ruler-ruler;
We buried each other with a speechless look,
We entered the grave in each other's soul...
- Let no victim be required but me,
Let no other feet come near the gallows.
That's when the question came up. We know that you consider the Bible to be the greatest monument of human culture. Did you feel, did you know, that such times would come when almost the entire Armenian people, "burdened and tired", would turn their faces to their beginning, their share of heaven, with the expectation of purity and salvation. Are you a believer?
- I believe in a country of bright homes, clean gardens, healthy children, skilled workers, knowledgeable doctors, and innocent poets. Let's do our human work flawlessly as much as we can and remember only the name of salvation and savior.
- What if you were born in such a society, where people did not swallow the pills of communism and remained servants before faith, remained Armenian-speaking, unlike our relatives in the neighboring republic?
- But there is another facet of the "outside" question: should you come out of your shell, enter the clothes of which god? In a regime of alienation, they don't want to leave their peasant home, their religion and language. We will not leave here in the future. This anti-Armenianism of Azerbaijan and the Union pushes us and our compatriots to only one thing, making this huge country "alien" for us, returning us to our national shell. The movements in our social order and the movement of the social order itself are in favor of our future: our colonies will flourish again with the Union, we will have "Americans", "Persians", "Beirutians" already in the Union.
If the alphabet of religion was given to me from the beginning, I would be ready to meet your spiritual conversation or not, and thus it is a conversation of the ignorant. Do you consider it a coincidence that our generation was incapable of understanding Narekatsi? I would like my children to be free from it, to know the alphabet of our culture completely.
- When you were "neither forty nor twenty-five, but exactly your age, ye-re-sun," you boldly rejected Antonioni and screamed, "No, man is not alone in this hostel country." Then, when you were neither forty nor thirty, but exactly forty-five, you wrote "Lord" and said: "My brothers did not have a helper, my brothers did not have the support of the people..."
Rostom said with deep pain: "we say we want to be the leader of the Andranik army, but we have neither the people coming behind us, nor the Turkish enemy in front of us." It seems that you missed something in the "Lord" novel. today Rostom-Andranik has both a people coming from behind and a Turkish enemy in front. what is he doing and thinking now?
- Mher Pokr was mentioned in our conversation. You know, it has always seemed to me, and so it is, that David's work is easier than Mher's fight; instead of the ugly, huge, but material and real Melik, the enemy has taken a new form in front of Mher: he is immaterial and elusive, he hits but is not hit, he persecutes and is not persecuted.
The Turk is the Turk, and the Turk has captured our entire sky from the past to the future, but we would be as honestly naive as any Hayduk if we did not at least try to guess the elusive thing that makes the Turk the enemy of the Armenian and the Armenian of the Turk.
It is our misfortune that the chaos of inhuman hatred in us is kneaded, coiled, and takes the form of a Turk every time, entrusting its other and more convincing characters to foreign writers, philosophers, thinking people.
This does not mean at all that in moments of crisis we should turn our backs on that exact spat of the Turk and turn to some higher, abstract enemies. We can't, it's impossible, it's as obligatory as fate. My Rostom today, perhaps, we and we were going to say his word. "Hat! He! Grandson of Talaat, let's drown you in the water tied to you. humanity is not used to it, but you have to get used to it."
- Screenplays and movies based on them are a part of your existence. In my opinion, it is like a well where the bucket is lowered, but there is no lifter. Is the water frozen that they cannot stand or the hands of the one who lifts the bucket up?
- The novel "Merelaluys" was written, about 150 pages, it was left unfinished, I told myself to prepare more and I randomly started writing "The Lord", and the movie novel of the same name was developed from "The Lord". pure material need pushed me to that adventure, I don't like "kinoshniks", especially ours, they are a half-hearted people. I say especially ours, because they were given a more national mission than our writers, they were given the opportunity to communicate directly with the 250 million-strong All-Soviet hall, it was given and they did not communicate. The image of a hard-working, fair-minded, knowledgeable, forgiving, patient, suffering and yet again generous, yet again humanitarian and optimistic Armenian is not present in the union and world cinema today, and it would certainly be easy for the provocateurs of the central television today to throw their fiction of the Armenian into such a deserted square.
And what a lot of wonderful "material" they spoiled, consider the entire Armenian literature of the past and today. My "filmmaker" and my eager desire to do something good for us with cinema did not bear fruit either.
- I agree with you. I am a fan of your literature, but if I honestly say my personal opinion, then your literature is more confident and clear than your screenplay "work". What was so lovely about Bakuntsi ("Mirhav", "This green-red world") seems to have escaped from under your pen. The beauty, the secret of the soul, was locked by Bakunts using the reader's imagination. Our reader's secret You have noticed, why?
- After I wrote it, I thought for a long time that if a legitimate person got the script, I would add such and such things, I didn't, but even with the existing scheme, a good film could be made. Bakunts took the case with a different plan: in a closed Armenian village, a moment of light shines. imagine the ascetic restraint of her time, but when the closed Armenian woman, like a protest, opens up once. In today's brash and cynical world, I did the complete opposite.
- After the good movie "We Are Our Mountains", "Autumn Sun" came to the scene, then "The Lord", in the prologue (magazine version) of Bazaz Artem, standing in front of Bazaz Artem, like Hambo, begged-begged-you really want them not to spoil it either. how do you accept such distortions (although I heard you were delighted with the performance of "Autumn Sun")?
- No, I'm not excited, I have witnesses.
- And why don't you follow these works in advance, even if, let's say, you went to the set, you wouldn't look, you would pat on the shoulders, you would suggest things, if necessary, you would get angry and upset on the spot.
- It is not easy to hurt people. During one of the meetings, they asked what I consider my shortcoming, I said: forgiveness. Yes, I should have been upset and upset. I didn't do it and it came from my nose every time. On the other hand, it is impossible. "Why don't you control your Czech", "why don't you control your Russian", "why don't you stand at the head of your film"... In the end, it is their job, the director, the translator, the new owners of your business.
You do business - do it.
- Platonov, Pasternak, Dudintsev, Aitmatov... The best reading and critical mind is occupied with them. I see that they hardly remember you. With the mouth of my nationalist contemporaries, I say that we love and highly appreciate your type of prose. How do you deal with such union oblivion?
- The Union Square knows how to make a criminal forget and then just as criminally slander. Nevertheless, my situation in the union literary family is not so bad, the situation of the entire Armenian literature is miserable. If, let's say, we could still have reservations about the certainly great works of Sahyan, Davoyan, Aghasi Ayvazyan and some others, then we have one or two greatnesses that are not in your publication: Charents, Bakunts. It means that the concept you mentioned of a union square does not exist as such, there is a Russian-language literature square, the legal owners of which are the authors you listed. My ambition would definitely be flattered, if my name was mentioned equally with theirs, I would have been a fan of some kind of ango, supranational, supra-Armenian classic, but I hope that I should never forget that this is one of the signs of the realization of the motto of "Splatila naveki velikaya Rus".
- "Hunger rules the world," says Solzhenitsyn. throughout our conversation, the circumstance of your generation being hungry (in all its meanings) showed itself and did not disappear without being seen. We, our generation, are so full.
- I must not lose my sense of hunger, Solzhenitsyn continues to say that hunger rules all the hungry, or that the hungry do not consciously decide to die. Because in this world full of conspiracies, every second they can close your tube, as a diver who has gone under water, keep you grateful to them, drowning you or not, keep you as a loyal dog tied to their leg, so that they can pour out what they want from your mass, trample on you the company that goes in the direction they sent. And so, you must be the multi-talented person standing on this land, be the man-state that my grandfather was, I will choose that character. This earthquake, this constant aggression of the Tatars has put our weak, helpless successors in front of a difficult problem. Homeland-Armenia gave me 99 days out of 100 good days that I lived, and now the hostile or hostile attitude of the world pushes my descendants back to that homeland, and he will also live many of his good days on the homeland.
- Your literature seems to have blocked the way for boys of our generation, you took a leap yourself and left a great boundary line for the next ones. When you feel that it is difficult for them to create after you, what do you do? Do you love the new generation?
- I don't understand the meaning of your question. Why would it be difficult for those who came after me to create? If I'm a bad writer, then "they are dead and beautiful, let them die", but if I'm a good writer... Was it going to be easy for me to write after Teryan, Bakunts, Charents, Sahyan, or difficult, only easy? We are the birth of our predecessors as much as of life itself.
About appreciation and love. Teryan was appreciated by the girls and boys of his age, Tumanyan too. If the writer was appreciated by his generation and given to the next one with affection, it means that the true value has been found. It would be fair if the new generation's talent was appreciated by the critic-reader of the new generation.
- But see that our young people, Teryan with them, went to Tumanyan's door, Charents went to Isahakyan and said, "Hey, I'm here!"
- But did Tumanyan mention Teryan's charm? Is Teryan's greatness measured by Tumanyan's measure? Tumanyan did not only prevent Teryan's rise. With my eyes and ears open, I am looking for Agassi Ayvazyan in the new generation, but you will point him out.
- A purely female question. I don't say, others say that Aghun is our Aghun (now, the strongest female character in Armenian literature), long live the sun of Aghun and her creator, but if we look a little further, we see Sona in the lobut, in Simon's arms, Mariam with Andro, Muradents and his daughter-in-law in the cave, next to Rostom (?), Lachar Shushan... the images are repeated. God's commandment (Thou shalt not commit adultery) is violated at this point before our eyes, but your pen exudes your traditional humanity. Aghun, our other women read it, one says it will happen, two say alas, and the third says yes! How do you approach and create those characters?
- I am the documenter of my time, the documenter of my mother's time. "They did the harvest, they pulled the yoke with the ox, they stood behind their sons, instead of fathers, like brothers." Sometimes they stole their share of love, and sometimes I gave them a human gift in their boots, in the hot Augusts. I would like my whole work to be a blind pilgrimage to their sinful-innocent feet, because we created "David", "Narek", Komitas, Tumanyan, but the greatest work of Armenian history is the Armenian woman: the girl, the grandmother on the migration road, the mistresses of their luxurious menats... It would be appropriate if today we had a selection of Armenian prose under the title "Our Mothers". selection about the Armenian woman. Yes, I have created a couple of characters, I will create a couple of them...
- One can endlessly talk about literature, but this day of ours does us by hand, and its obligation is to have a paternal attitude towards tomorrow. Is it necessary to constantly see the Azerbaijani people as an enemy? Do you remember near Solzhenitsyn? the law of the grandfathers-mountains, which keeps them strong, removes the Chechens from the created situation.
The Center is never able to solve our problem, and we should be able to solve it, guided by the wisdom of the ancestors of our two peoples.
- Yes. daring people are the future of us, we shall see the Caucasian Federation, the city of Europolis of tomorrow (no blasphemy and no turning a blind eye to this reality), we will see it in our city of Jugha of yesterday, there is also a casino and our lazy types - Armenians, Turks and Persians - sit and play poker. We will live together. Niagara, on the border of America and Canada, there is a statue of a Canadian general who defeated the American army, and today you will not find more supportive countries than America and Canada.
But for us, that's all tomorrow. And now it's night, and until our sun rises, the hyena cry of "bir-iki, Kavkaz bizimki" (it's the march of the Tatars, they say the Caucasus is theirs, the enemy is Armenian), Armenian eating, betrayal of the basic rule of human coexistence. And all of that, one after another, everywhere and every day, when the sun rises, at least we shouldn't be in the Caucasus. From the herdsman to the political scientist, they are fried with the agony of domination, we, with the human hope of our physical salvation, they want us not to be. It is necessary to endure and resist. And if a hand of friendship or neighborliness should ever be extended, they will extend it themselves. But I don't see anyone among us who can hold that hand. Because that hand often, very often rushes into my Armenian future and even if it is not able to destroy much in that future, in the house of my ancestor and successor, at least it pollutes and blurs, blurs and pollutes.
