In her memoir “Truth Was Hrant’s God”, Margo Ghukasyan revisits her diary entries about Matevossian.
She recalls their meeting on 24 July 1977: the writer advised her to retain her mother’s living speech in an essay rather than replace it with a literary rendering.
Ghukasyan also describes his nervousness before a packed audience at the House of Journalists in 1979. Her accounts of personal encounters reveal Matevossian’s demanding approach to language and truth.
