The film “Autumn Sun” now has French subtitles. On 29 May, Brusov State University, led by Rector Davit Gyurjinyan, welcomed the Hrant Matevossian Foundation and the National Cinema Centre of Armenia. The guest of honour was the film’s leading actress, Anahit Ghukasyan.
The Rector noted that the screening was another chapter in “God, What a Beautiful World”, the programme marking the writer’s anniversary. The French subtitles form another bridge in the dialogue between the University and the Foundation. That dialogue will continue in German, Romanian and Italian.
That day Matevossian’s characters lived on the screen once more—among them Aghun, elemental as nature itself: gathering everything around her, admonishing, growing angry, forgiving, refusing to submit, and loving without end.
May Matevossian’s words, like the sun, continue to illuminate and warm your path, dear University.
